What are you taking about?
I was thinking about the great Steely Dan last night. It was brought to my attention that quite a few people enjoy listening to Fagen and Becker's 1977 classic album AJA. I guess I like the AJA album; it's alright to listen to when you are sitting at the bar drinking black and tans.
In my opinion, Can't Buy a Thrill is the ultimate S.D. album; it's complete from the edge to the center. The song that gets my attention has to be Brooklyn (Owes the Charmer Under Me). Its simplicity is quite wonderful--though many have accused it of setting back music for ten years. Admittedly, If I was alive during 1972, you know that Can't Buy a Thrill would be blaring through my headphones. Also, it must be mentioned that Can't Buy a Thrill set the blueprint for the TV theme song from the year 1974 to 1985.
cool...
